In Doha now at 11:31 pm local time. Weary but excited to go home all the same.
My SEP has officially ended and feeling kinda lost. Nostalgia for the place that I have not really appreciate could be due to a sudden change in habits and routines, must be. Going back to sg should be exciting for a few weeks and then it will be routine again. It is amazing how people adapt as soon as they are thrown into the unknowns. Amazing adaptability.
Paris holds some memories, more of school and of that irritating arse. Pardon the language but I am very glad that I wont see her or more accurately, not interact with that "it" again. Mya our paths never cross again. She can go talk about her potential honeymoon as that has been the only topic on her mind to almost everyone she met nowadays.
My trip to Italy has been great. Hot weather but plenty of gelatos to make up for it. Venice was as scenic and romantic as i have hope and dream for. Everyone seems to be stuck in the age of gondolas and venetian masks. The sunsets in Venice are addictive and i had a great time doing funny poses against the setting sun for the various effects.
Rome was more walking and more gelatos. We estimated that we walked a total of about 10km or more a day.. I have only seen the metro in Rome once and the rest was walking. Sitting in alleys near pizza restaurants to eat the pizzas became quite a daily affair and it's amazing how things turn out to be a surprise everytime. Our dodgy hostel was quite homely and fun, the pizzas found in the restaurants in the alleyways were damn good (cooked over woodfire) and we found a gelato place that sells the best gelatos in the world from word of mouth of fellow hostel-iers. The honey gelato is one of its kind and patented, for a good reason too. All the gelatos in this particular San Crispino is really light and icy cold, not just cold like normal gelatos. It is like floating on ice.. crisp.
Ups and downs were quite drastic in this past week. My fyp was suddenly rejected for no reason and i ended up panicking on the streets of Rome. Then i caused a chain effect and my frens panic in singapore as well and starting looking out for profs for me while i spam the profs. I think Jessica Seah must be quite a email header now. Got a prof in the end, a few actually and doing interviews soon=)
To add to the joy, I passed all my mods! I am super uber happy and was really relieved.. The panic and uncertainty in the past few months are justified after all. At least i can fly home with ease. LOL.
I met this french lady at the airport and started talking for a few hours since i arrived early and she did as well. It's lovely to practise some french and the irony is that this was the longest french conversation i had during these few months: at the Paris airport on the last day in Paris. Wow.
Oh, and i will be broke when i return. back to reality. damn.
Till then.. arriving in sg in 7 hours!
