My childhood. Puppy love, childish games around a playground and under the HDB blocks, X'mas eve parties around the estate, and many many many friends.
I had a Singaporean childhood which is flooded with weekends spent in tuition centers, but thankfully i had a fun childhood as well. I am proud to say i have friends whom i have known for 13 years and still counting. They know the "me" then and the "me" now.
I knew them when i was 8 or 9.. I will spend almost every weekend with them at the playground behind my grandma's house. Reminiscing these memories make me happy and excited even now. There are the Quek's kids (super duper big family), yuebao, gina, the older boys and my cousins.
From i was 8 to about 12, we played childish games around the small playground and the bigger void deck.. The games we come up with are sooooooo weird, just weird but fun thinking about it. I dun mind playing them another time another evening.. if only we can go back to that time.
Everyone has changed.. and drastically too. Some are in polys, some are in another country, some are working, another is even married with a kid! The wonders of life.. I am still wondering. All pointing to the fact that we are in another phase of life.
Puppy love.. ermmm, sweet=) It's really innocent affection for another person and shant say more.
X'mas eve parties. The older boys organised some X'mas eve treasure hunt for us and we went around the estate looking for clues for the treasure hunt.. staying till 1 am. Well, that's pretty a feat for a 10 year old to be able to stay out so late.. with my cousins in tow of cos.
Must be wondering why the sudden "drag-up-old-memories" urge. I met up with a childhood friend who reminded me of something i did in my younger "oh-i-do-not-know-better" days, and gave me evidence of it.. Awww.
I really miss those days and thank God for them.. although i dun see many of my childhood buddies anymore..
