Enlightening. no. Shocked. yes. Surprised. very.
I am hit on the head by a facebook message from a friend that i have not seen for many years, and not talked to for an equally long period of time. It made me think back on when we were 13-16. Don't i miss those times?
I am still pretty much stuck in the world full of innocence, ruddy girls, stupid boys. But when the news came, I had the sudden realisation that we may all be on the way to marriage and more in a few more years to come. I shuddered at the thought, which had became a reality in a fren of mine (the same who dropped the bomb on my facebook inbox).
Seriously, i read, re-read and re-re-read a lot of times before it start to sink in. As in i know that it's common to be caught in this kind of situation and get married on a short notice, but this is the first time that it happened to a fren i know, and to a fren that i thought whom will not be married (at least not so early)..
My sis was commenting on my love life as usual and i told her to shoo off. She wondered (and outloud, mind you!) why i am not attached or never attached before this while my fren is getting married and becoming a mom.
Anyway, it was more of a message to remind that we are already all grown up and the talks that we had when we were younger are merely childish gibberish of the younger selves. We often say (and i still do) that marrriage is so restrictive, boys are nonsensical, girlfrens are the best. I guess i should prepare to receive more of these bombs from my frens in the few years to comes..
Tan, if you get married/pregnant, whichever comes first.. call me. Dun message me on fb and let me panic! alright!
P.s. we are becoming oldies
