Merry X'mas! Hahaz, i'm at home on x'mas eve.. c'est triste! Oh wells, i went to my fren's place to slack an watch dvds and i got a book called "Captivating of women's souls"
It is easy to relate to the book since i was a girl and considered a woman now.. i suppose.. It speaks of the many fears and uncertainties that women have in modern society or rather, in all times. It's amazing to read about your unexplained fears explained explicitly to you in a book, in black and white if you know wad i mean.. As we grow older, we tend to be able to face the roots of some inexplicable fears resulting in some weird action or habits.. This book is interesting as it relates to the heart of a Christian woman but not focusing only on the spiritual requirements.. It realises that we are humans and merely humans with feelings of uncertainty that we possess and cannot be removed just by the church's saying that "you, as a woman, must be this and this and this.. you cannot be this and this and this".. It just doesnt work that way..
One chapter strikes me particularly.. We are born to portray femininity and strength but not strength as a warrior like men.. We are born with an feminine beauty which every woman has and needs to be unveiled, be discovered.. yet, as a human, physical beauty is often important as well.. It is undeniable that women seek after beauty, be it you are 8 or 80 year old, this fact of nature seems to be universal.. There is nothing to be ashamed about for wanting to be beautiful as we are made in God's image and as God himself is glorious, we yearn to be beautiful as well..
Often enough, in this modern society, external beauty is commercialised and standardised to an image of a woman with perfect figure that few women ever obtain.. and thus, the struggle with diets and lack of self confidence are banes thru'out lives of women.. I'm saying that external beauty is women's natural instinct to pursue beauty in it's own essence since we are image bearers of God but the heart of a woman is as impt.. well, i got to run now.. playing mahjong on x'mas.. more on tt later.. till then..
