Woohoo! I went to the Mediterranean Sea last weekend and this weekend, guess wad? I went to the Alpes! I went to Chamonix which is part of Mont Blanc! I woke up at 5am this morning and was so grumpy cause i was wondering y do i have to wake up so early to see some mountains..... but i was excited in the morning though..... We took about 2 hrs to reach some place to a rest and go to the toilets..... the scenery there was already quite breaktaking! The clouds were hanging so low and we can see the mountains v clearly.... took loads of pictures outside the stopover place and after 1 hour or so, we reached the base of the mountains to walk around the small town. There was a market and there were flowers (quite cheap), cheese, meat, and loads more! Den we took the train up to the top of Chamonix and on the way, we are like woo-ing and ahh-ing like some tourists (actually we are lol) but we cant help it! The view is really gd and the air is really fresh..... we were busy taking pictures, taking in the view and i was busy preventing myself from feeling sick cause of motion sickeness lol but the ride was good..... we saw a few small towns which reside in between the mountains..... After about 20 mins, we reach the top and guess wad? Pictures, pictures and more pictures.... Wahhhh-ing wah-ing and more wah-ing! Super duper pretty.... some of the mountains are still capped with ice that will only melt in summer but now is only the end of spring and start of summer..... so we still get to see the beautiful mountains reflecting the sunlight off with their ice caps! We went to explore more and trying to find a grass patch for our picnics (our host families prepared some food for us to bring to the mountains and have a picnic lol)! We went to another open space which is less crowded and the view of the mountains was even more spectacular! The wind was so chilling that my fingers start to hurt and became numb lol! I stood there to take some pictures but can only ta-han for so long lol..... After that, we climbed a lil distance to sit down on the stones to eat and enjoy the mountains and fresh air..... There is 1 person, whose host family prepared chicken, cheese and bread la! Most of us brought sandwiches and he brought a spread! Shimin was grumbling about her food cause her rice (couscous) got tomatoes, which she hates a lot, and peppermint leaves which make the rice tastes like peppermint toothpaste but i finished it cause got lemon sauce, and i love lemons! After that, we took a small cable car down the mountains, which is the entrance to the caves under the Mer de Glace but the caves were closed today so we just took the cable car down to get a better view..... We wanted to walk to the mountains to touch the ice caps but we had no time lol...... Took loads of pictures, and some of them looks like postcards lol! We rushed back and took the cable car back to the meeting point, took the train down Chamonix and took the bus to a small old town called Annecy..... This town is between Lyon and Chamonix and it is a beautiful old town with loads of..... Icecream shops! Many shops boast of 54 parfums or 56 parfums (which means the no. of flavours) and i was like so dazzled with the choices available! I ate Rhum Raisins in the end and walked around the town. It is also known for its jewelleries and mountains..... It has a few mountains in the background, a super big field as well as a bis lake! As it was saturday, there were many people suntanning on the field and many small performances along the lake (people singing and band performing) and many many doggies (some of them frolicking in the waters!). There were many stores selling hats, teapots, ornaments, jewelleries, icecreams and souvenirs (postcards and items with names engraved). After that, we rushed back to the bus and went back to Lyon on the bus. On the bus, the teachers asked someone from each different country (Vietnam, Singapore, United States, France, African) to sing. It was fun at first until i got tired of the monotonous singing and started singing with Xueli using Jian Hua's phone......
